Description: Three miles of looping gravel and natural surface trail providing access to this wildlife management area. Trails include a section of the historic Browning Lumber Railroad that was used in the late 1920’s as the main rail line for construction access for the Deep Creek Lake dam. Trails travel through woodlands, meadows and around a historic wetlands that was typical of the mountain glades once found around Garrett County. Please check State Hunting schedules and wear appropriate high visibility clothing when using this area.

219 Access: From Oakland, MD travel north on Rt. 219 approximately 2 miles and turn left on Mt. Nebo Road. Parking area is .25 miles at gate.

Oakland-Sang Run Road Access: Two main trail access points are available from Oakland-Sang Run Road.
From the Sheetz in Oakland going south on Rt. 219 turn right onto Center Street. Follow Center Street .4 miles and turn right on Bradley Lane. Continue on Bradley Lane through the town golf course where it’s name changes to Oakland-Sang Run Road.
Access 1: After passing golf course take 1st right onto Mt. Nebo access road just before County Humane Shelter. Follow dirt road 1/4 mile to small parking area at trailhead gate.

Access 2: Continue on Oakland-Sang Run Road 2.3 miles and take right on Mt. Nebo Road. Follow dirt road 1/4 mile to small parking area at trailhead gate.
