Asa Durst Area Trails

Description: There are 3 blazed trails, totaling 4.8 miles, that can be accessed from this trailhead. Old logging roads and single track trail pass through pine and hardwood forests of Savage River State Forest.

Use: Hiking, Biking, XC Skiing
Difficulty: Easy – Moderate
Directions: 31 minutes, 20.4 miles from Visitor Center Drive; Turn right onto RT-219 S 0.4 mile, turn left onto Mosser Rd 3.5 miles, turn left onto Rock Lodge Rd 4.3 miles, continue onto MD-495 N 1.0 mile, turn right onto Brenneman Rd 0.2 mile, stay right onto Frank Brenneman Rd 2.6 miles, turn left onto New Germany Rd 7.2 miles, turn left onto West Shale Rd 0.8 mile, turn right to park.
