Description: This brand new 0.7 mile trail connects Garrett College to Route 219 and the McHenry area near Deep Creek Lake. The trail is paved for its entire length and supports non-motorized activities for people of all abilities. There are several road crossings that are new for drivers and pedestrians, please use caution at crossings. Coming from McHenry Cove there is a crosswalk at Route 219, which is a very busy highway.
We are working with the County to get a crosswalk installed across Mosser Road leading to the east side of 219 and providing safe access to a local supermarket. This trail has been a long time in development and we are proud to partner with the College, the County, and private landowners along the way to provide a safe alternative to using Mosser Road for pedestrians.
Use: walking, running, biking
Difficulty: Easy
Directions: 2 minutes, 0.7 miles from Visitor Center Drive; turn right onto Rt 219 0.4 mile, turn left onto Mosser Road 0.2 mile, turn right into the Garrett County Fairgrounds for parking.
