Employment Opportunities
Garrett Trails is partnering with ASCI, ASI, and Garrett County Community Action to create a user friendly mountain bike trail in Fork Run. Fork Run is a 550 acre area located between Shingle Camp Road, Oakland Sang Run Road and Hoyes Run Road. Owned by Garrett County and managed by ASCI, this area has bouldering available, and the terrain for some great mountain biking.
As a part of a youth employment program, there is an opportunity to apply for Trail Construction Crew and Trail Construction Supervisor positions for this Summer. These are temporary positions lasting from July 6, 2010 till the end of August 2010. Crew members and supervisors will receive training. The crew positions are intended to be full-time, although there may be an opportunity for some part time work. The supervisor positions may be full or part time depending on the experience and availability of those applying.
Crew members must be under age 30 and will be paid $8.50/hr. Supervisors rate of pay is likely to be between $13 and $15/hour. Applications are due to ATTN: Paige Teegarden, GCCAC, 104 E. Center Street, Oakland MD 21550 by June 25, 2010.
